YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury today indicted a city man on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery with firearm specifications in the April 29 shooting death of Kristopher M. Stuart, 26, in his Elm Street residence.
DeJuan Thomas, 31, of Osborn Avenue, who was shot in the same incident, was indicted on those charges and on a charge of being a felon with a gun and could face life imprisonment.
Also indicted in the same case was LaQuawn Hopkins, 35, of South Schenley Avenue, who is charged only with tampering with evidence by concealing or removing a phone and pictures on April 30 for the purpose of impairing an official investigation.
In another homicide, Larry Dawson, 24, of Wesley Avenue, was indicted on a murder charge and two counts of child endangering in the death of his 15-month-old son, Rayvon, on Dec. 12, 2012.
The murder count says Dawson caused his son’s death by committing child endangering. The first child-endangering count says he abused and caused serious physical harm to the toddler and the second one says he created a substantial risk to his son’s health or safety by violating a parental duty of care.
