Spring plant sale at Mill Creek Park
The Mill Creek MetroParks will have its Spring Plant Sale today, Thursday and Friday, From 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Fellows Riverside Gardens members will get a preview of the sale and a 15 percent discount for that night only.
On Thursday, the plant sale will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members will receive a 10 percent discount during those days.
Annuals, hanging baskets, herbs, shrubs, perennials, summer bulbs, roses and fruit plants will be among the plants for sale during the event. Staff and master gardeners also will be available to assist customers.
The plant sale, with profits to support Fellows Riverside Gardens, will be at the gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.

Commencement set at Mount Union
The University of Mount Union will have its 167th commencement ceremony Saturday in the Peterson Field House of the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
The university will begin the commencement procession at 1:30 p.m. in which more than 470 students will participate. Members of the Class of 1963 also will participate as part of this year’s 50th-reunion festivities.
Featured commencement speaker is Matt Darrah, a 1984 graduate of the University of Mount Union and executive vice president of North American Operations for Enterprise Holdings.
Charity clinic for pets planned in Hubbard
Regular price veterinary exams and routine procedures, such as nail trims and vaccinations, will be performed by appointment during the fifth annual Charity Clinic Day from noon to 3 p.m Saturday at the Animal Care Hospital, 47 Hall Ave. All proceeds will benefit the Bummer Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides financial aid to tri-county pet owners in times of financial and medical crisis. A gift-basket raffle featuring certificates and items from local businesses and restaurants also will take place; it is not necessary to a have a vet appointment to buy raffle tickets.
