Pat Benatar will come to Covelli Centre on Aug. 16.
The rocker, who had a string of multiplatinum albums in the ’80s, will appear in an 8 p.m. concert with Neil Giraldo, her husband and guitarist. The show will launch the fourth annual Panerathon fundraising event. A portion of all ticket sales will benefit Panerathon and the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday at ticketmaster.com, the Covelli Centre box office and by phone at 866-448-7849. Prices are $36.50, $46.50 and $62.
Benatar will perform her many hit singles at the concert, including “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “You Better Run,” “Shadows of the Night,” “Love is a Battlefield” and “We Belong.”
The concert is part of the Greatest Week in the Valley, which will culminate in the 10K/2-mile Panerathon Fun Walk/Run and Kids Run. Panerathon is the area’s largest community fundraising event and has raised more than $500,000 for the Abdu Center over the past three years.
“We’re excited to bring our Panerathon week to another level this year by kicking it off with such a huge name as Pat Benatar,” said Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises.
“We’re proud to be a part of the exciting things going on at the Covelli Centre and proud to bring the Valley the largest community event around, all to help end breast cancer in our area,” he said.
