YOUNGSTOWN

State Rep. Robert F. Hagan filed paperwork to raise money for a 2016 bid for the U.S. Senate.

Hagan of Youngstown, D-58th, said Monday he submitted forms with the secretary of the U.S. Senate’s Office of Public Records to create the Bob Hagan for U.S. Senate campaign fund.

Hagan announced April 17 that he was going to challenge U.S. Sen. Rob Portman because he was angry the incumbent Republican voted against a proposal to expand background checks for firearms purchases at gun shows and all Internet sales except most sales among family members.

“He must be held accountable for that vote, for caring more about the gun lobby that stokes his campaign with cash than he does about the safety and lives of the men, women and children of this state,” Hagan said Monday.

Portman, who isn’t up for re-election until 2016, has said he voted against the proposal because it “contains several provisions that would make it difficult for law-abiding Ohioans to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed rights.”

Hagan said Monday his “mission is to be a hair shirt, following him around to make him feel uncomfortable.”

Hagan, term-limited in the Ohio House at the end of 2014, said a “formal announcement tour is in the planning stages.”

Bob Hagan has my vote ! He's forward and direct that means everything. Portman showed his COLORS when his boy came out of the closet with his GAY WAYS ! So is he representing us ? Or STANDING UP FOR HIS FAMILY 1ST ??

Bob is the man to get the guns off the streets! His progressive thinking will make it happen. Only law enforcement and our military have any need to be in possession of firearms.

Let Hagan get his money from the fracking idiots he supports. I bet these people will not give up any of there government social security checks to help him when he needs money. I will tell you one thing. He won't get any of my fracking money. Maybe after he losses he can get a government loan to get a welding certificate to work in the fracking industry. I love Karma!!

Bob Hagan wants and promotes legal weed for everyone, us being dependent on foreign oil ( keep those dirty factories overseas), and government dictating our everyday lives.

He does NOT want little children praying in public, citizens the right to protect themselves, good jobs (government will supply everything).

Wait till the rest of Ohio sees our kooky Bob Hagan.

When Buckwheat's Senate campaign crashes and burns, he can run for the mayor of Y-town again in the special election that will be held to replace Mayor McNally, who will be indicted on state conspiracy charges.

I don't like Portman or Hagan. I think that they are both useless.
