Spring clean-up this week in Weathersfield
Weathersfield Township’s 2013 Spring Clean-Up program will be this week.
Residents should place items out on their regular garbage night for pick-up.
Excluded items are: tires, car parts and batteries, untied brush (bundles must be cut and tied at no more than 4 feet long and 2 feet in diameter in order to be picked up), hot ash or embers, renovation materials such as sod, rock, bricks and dirt, steel drums any size, explosives, propane and gas cylinders, all liquids (paint is fine, but must be solid, so either dry completely or mix with sand or kitty litter, and lids must be removed), hazardous waste, including poisons, fuel, oil, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, medical waste, including all hypodermic needles and loose unbagged animal feces.
Appliances will be taken, but if they contain Freon, they must be tagged by a certified technician showing that the coolant has been removed.
This includes air conditioners, freezers and refrigerators.
