Phantoms fall, 4-0

DUBUQUE, IOWA

The Youngstown Phantoms’ postseason run came to an end on Saturday with a 4-0 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints in Game 5 of the USHL’s Eastern Conference Final.

Dubuque wins the best-of-five series and advances to the Clark Cup Final for the second time in three seasons. The Saints will have home-ice advantage over the winner of the Western Conference series between the Fargo Force and Sioux Falls Stampede. Fargo has a 2-1 lead in that series.

The top-seeded Saints scored three times in the second period. Jarrid Privitera, Evan Janssen and Shane Sooth scored.

Arthur Brey stopped 23 Youngstown shots for the shutout. Phantoms goaltender Sean Romeo made 20 saves.
