The YWCA of Youngstown and the Mahoning County Financial Stability Partnership will host an “Empowerment and Financial Fair” from 9 a.m. to noon next Saturday at the YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave.
The event will feature speakers covering topics that include financial literacy, banking and self-defense, among others.
Vendors also will be available to discuss financial resources and other topics. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

Cortland Bancorp, the holding company of Cortland Banks, approved a cash dividend this week of 3 cents per share, payable on or after May 28, to shareholders of record as of the close of business May 13.
New bank branch
First National Bank has acquired the property at 2424 E. State St. in Salem and will open a full-service retail branch office to expand its banking services in Columbiana County.
The bank currently operates a residential-, commercial- and agricultural-loan production office at 1070 E. State Street from which it provides home, business and farm loans.
First National will operate up to four inside teller stations and one drive-up window and a full service ATM at the new location. In a press release, the bank said it intends to employ seven full-time employees there. A grand-opening celebration is planned for September.
