Girl Scouts help feathered friends

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR The eight girls of Daisy Girl Scout Troop 80777 of Columbiana participated in building and decorating earth-friendly birdhouses at the April meeting. The girls learned about reducing, reusing and recycling over the past few months and have earned all the petals of their Daisy Flower Badge set. The birdhouses are made of recycled newsprint. They will be displayed today and tomorrow at Springtime in Columbiana for a contest. Showing off their work are, from left in the front row, Rebekah Clark, Abbie Passmore, Elizabeth Siembida, Mia Surgenivic, Chloe Gill, Airianna Scullion, Alaina Johnston and Katrina Kaszowski. In the back row are Crystal Siembida Boggs, troop leader, and Kathy Kaszowski, troop co-leader.
