Fitch track teams defeat Canfield
The Fitch girls track team defeated Canfield 96-39 on April 23.
Top performer for Fitch was Ebony Davis, placing first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.3 and first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 60.0.
Paige Henley was another top performer for the Falcons with her first-place finishes in the long and high jump.
Contributing to the team’s victory were first-place finishes by Lauren Bower in the 100-meter hurdles, Amanda Choma in the 1600-meter run and Jayme Ritchie in the 200-meter dash.
The 4x100, 4x200 and 4x800 relay times also took first place. Kayla Bailey won the pole vault, while Tradaiza Merchant and Gabby Figueroa took first in the shot put and discus, respectively.
The Fitch boys track team beat Canfield 111-22. Top performers, placing first were Nathan Bowlen in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, Garen Gibson in the 400-meter dash and 3200-meter dash and Billy Price in the shot put and discus throws.
Chad Holmes took first in the 1600-meter run and Zack Pasquale finished first in the 300-meter hurdles. The 4x800-meter relay team raced to first in a time of 9:02.1 and the 4x200 finished first in a time of 1:39.5. The 4x100-meter relay took first with a time of 47.1.
Sam Ortz’s 6-foot jump landed him in first in the high jump and Dylan Latone took first in the pole vault.
