State refuses license renewal for Olympic Inn tavern

The Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Liquor Control, has denied the renewal of the liquor license for the Olympic Inn on Parkman Road Northwest.

WARREN

The Ohio Department of Public Safety, Division of Liquor Control, has denied the renewal of the liquor license for the Olympic Inn on Parkman Road Northwest.

Linda Gadd, owner of the license, has 30 days to appeal the decision.

Warren City Council voted in August to ask the Division of Liquor Control to refuse the annual renewal on the grounds that the tavern has created too many disturbances.

Councilman Eddie Colbert reported that police have been called there 144 times in the past three years.

On Aug. 4, neighbor Pamela Dial, 43, was hit in the head by a bullet while she slept in her bedroom at 2:15 a.m. She suffered a serious injury.

In January, Antonio M. Price, 26, of Arthur Drive Northwest, was indicted on charges of aggravated robbery, two counts of improperly discharging a firearm and felonious assault in connection with Dial’s shooting and an Aug. 17 incident on Cranwood Drive Southwest.
