Democrats will host meet-and-greet
Potential Democratic statewide candidates for 2014 will be at a meet-and-greet, hosted by the Mahoning County Democratic Party, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Lemon Grove, 110 W. Federal St.
The event is free and open to the public.
Those expected to attend and their potential statewide races include Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald for governor, state Rep. John Carney of Columbus for auditor, state Sen. Nina Turner of Cleveland for secretary of state, former Hamilton County Commissioner David Pepper for attorney general, and state Rep. Connie Pillich of Montgomery for treasurer.
Four bridges in Columbiana County will be inspected next week during daytime hours by Ohio Department of Transportation crews and a snooper truck, weather permitting.
On April 4, crews will inspect both the north and southbound state Route 11 bridges over the Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek near the state Route 154 interchange.
On April 5, crews will inspect the U.S. Route 30 bridge over Middle Fork Little Beaver Creek Bikeway at Lisbon and the state Route 344 bridge over the railroad tracks in Leetonia.
Traffic will be restricted but maintained at all of these locations during the work.
