838th members headed to Afghanistan

CANFIELD — The Ohio Army National Guard’s 838th Military Police Co. will conduct its call-to-duty ceremony at noon April 4 for 130 soldiers who are to deploy for a year to Afghanistan.

The ceremony is at Old North Church of Canfield, 7105 Herbert Road.

The soldiers will undergo training at Camp Shelby, Miss., before going to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, said Sgt. 1st Class Donald Partlow, readiness noncommissioned officer for the 838th.
