Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley is inviting girls and their friends and families to the American Girl Fashion Show on April 20 or 21 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
Performances will be at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
The program will showcase historical and contemporary fashions for girls and their dolls.
Proceeds will benefit local programs and services of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
More than 170 local models will present the fashions while commentary, music and decorations will create a memorable experience.
Historical clothing will include daywear, sleepwear and special-occasion clothing that resembles what American Girl characters Kaya, Josefina, Addy, Rebecca, Kit, Molly and Julie might have worn.
Contemporary “My American Doll” outfits for older girls and Bitty Baby fashions will complete the program.
Refreshments will include a tea party luncheon with party favors, raffles and door prizes. Tickets are $25 per person. Order by calling 330-746-8712.

Kids’ Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will offer a grand raffle for $5 per ticket. The first prize is Saige, the 2013 Doll of the Year, with book and her horse, Picasso, valued at $204; second prize is a Kit prize package including the Kit doll with book and accessories, desk and chair valued at $195; and third prize is a Caroline doll with book and accessories valued at $110. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. Winners need not be present.
