St. Joseph the Provider School in Youngstown will sponsor its annual basket auction and buffet dinner April 5 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall, 343 Via Mount Carmel Ave., Youngstown. The dinner consists of pasta and meatballs, chicken, sausage and peppers, salad, vegetable, potato, soft drinks, coffee and tea. There will be a cash bar, prizes and gift baskets. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and buffet begins at 7:30. A drawing will be at 9. Tickets are $20 each and include the dinner and 25 tickets. Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, is preparing for its 57th annual used book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 24 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 25 and 26.


Altar & Rosary Society of Holy Apostles Parish, St. Stephen of Hungary Church, 954 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, is sponsoring a spring fling bingo and card party at 2 p.m. April 21 in the church social hall. Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, is selling tickets for an Easter basket raffle and 50-50 drawing. There will be two food baskets, which will contain a ham, turkey, kielbasa and the trimmings for an Easter meal plus other food items and gifts.
