— The Mahoning Valley is sending a boys basketball team to Columbus.

The LaBrae Vikings stormed into the Division III state tournament thanks to a 59-30 drubbing of Beachwood in a regional final Saturday night at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse.

LaBrae dominated from the start, opening the game with a 17-0 first-quarter run and building a 27-4 halftime lead. The Vikings led 45-10 entering the final eight minutes.

LaBrae (24-3) will meet Versailles (22-5) at 2 p.m. on Thursday in a state semifinal at the Jerome Schottenstein Center.
