Kali to compete in motocross championship

Neighbors | Submitted. Andrew Kali will compete in The KTM Jr. SX Challenge, part of The Monster Energy Motocross Championship Series to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. .

Seven-year-old Andrew Kali, son of Richard and Tina Kali of Hubbard and a first-grader at Holy Family School, has been selected to compete in The KTM Jr. SX Challenge, part of The Monster Energy Motocross Championship Series to be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Kali was one of 15, 7 to 8 year-old racers selected from more than 1,100 applicants from across the country to compete in the event.

To be considered, he had to submit his racing resume highlighting the regional and national events he has competed in, as well as his report card and other rider criteria.

Andrew and 14 other racers will compete in a three-lap race on the same track the pros will race on. The event will be covered live on the “Speed” channel today at 7 p.m.

Andrew is trained by “Mad Mike” Jones and sponsored by Point View Cycle, Eagle Wear Apparel, Pier Graphics, MX Parts Online, Penn-Ohio Motosport and Kali Protectives.com.
