St. Patrick’s Day weekend is almost here. To get ready for the festivities, here’s an overview of festivals, parties and dances:
Downtown Youngstown St. Paddy’s Dash, registration at 6 p.m. Friday at the B&O Station. Registration is $2, or dashers can donate a canned food item for the Youngstown Rescue Mission. Dashers will get a wrist band that grants unlimited rides on the trolley (between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m.) to all participating locations, and also exclusive food and drink specials. O’Donold’s and V2 will put up a 10,000-square-foot tent on Federal Street Saturday. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic between North Hazel and North Phelps streets. The tent will open at noon Sunday with performances by Guys Without Ties from 2 to 6 p.m., High Strung Irish, The Rage at 8 p.m., bagpipers and stepdancers throughout the day. A shuttle bus will run between downtown and Vernon’s in Niles between noon and midnight.
