St. Patrick’s Day weekend is almost here. To get ready for the festivities, here’s an overview of festivals, parties and dances:

Special Events

Downtown Youngstown St. Paddy’s Dash, registration at 6 p.m. Friday at the B&O Station. Registration is $2, or dashers can donate a canned food item for the Youngstown Rescue Mission. Dashers will get a wrist band that grants unlimited rides on the trolley (between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m.) to all participating locations, and also exclusive food and drink specials. Participating bars are: Royal Oaks, MVR, Avalon Downtown, Inner Circle at YSU, Cafe Cimmento, Dooney’s, 9INE, V2, Roberto’s, The Old Precinct, The Lemon Grove, O’Donold’s, Imbibe, Draught House, Overture, B&O Station and Youngstown Maennerchor (see individual listing for each bar).

O’Donold’s, 6000 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Party all day Sunday beginning at 5:30 a.m. with kegs and eggs. Entertainment starts at 9 a.m. in the giant tent in the parking lot, and includes Jane Black, the Schaffer Brothers and Graphic Pink at 8 p.m. Appearances by step dancers. 330-270-2800.

O’Donold’s, 128 W. Federal St., downtown Youngstown. Brigid’s Cross will perform at 8 p.m. Friday. The Shaffer Brothers will perform. An all-day party will begin at 5:30 a.m. Sunday. O’Donold’s and V2 will put up a 10,000-square-foot tent on Federal Street Saturday. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic between North Hazel and North Phelps streets. The tent will open at noon Sunday with performances by Guys Without Ties from 2 to 6 p.m., High Strung Irish, The Rage at 8 p.m., bagpipers and stepdancers throughout the day. A shuttle bus will run between downtown and Vernon’s in Niles between noon and midnight.

Quaker Steak and Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd., Austintown. All-day party Sunday starts at 6 a.m. with breakfast. Entertainment starts at 8 a.m. and includes Tara’s Fire, 3 p.m.
