Tax fairness has been lost

If you adjusted the tax rates according to the rate of inflation, people in my income bracket would not be paying anything. Average workers in 1913 made less than a dollar a day, but a dollar bought as much as 50 dollars does today. The new income tax was not levied on the average worker. It was paid by the wealthy, for good reason. They were beginning to accumulate all of the nation’s wealth, as they are again doing today.

The income tax was passed in 1913 as an amendment to the Constitution to prevent some from accumulating all the wealth and power of the nation. It is no longer doing that because of the loopholes put in place by a Congress bought by the rich and powerful. It is time to remedy this injustice and go back to the original intent of the 16th Amendment. It states that the tax is to be collected on incomes from whatever source derived without apportionment. It did not exempt certain sources of income or allow Congress to treat Income from some sources at a different rate than others, as is being done now. It did not allow anyone to hide their income off shore. If you want to live in America, and be a citizen, then you pay taxes here and you make your money here.

Way is the money you make from your labor taxed more than the money the rich make by just the fact that they have the wealth? I have an answer. They own your representatives in government. I have a solution. Don’t vote for their candidates. If a candidate has taken more money from a few wealthy donors than from many average citizens, don’t vote for them. Also quit voting according to the non-issue [wedge issue] of the month and start voting intelligently.
