Chevy Cruze garners accolade from U.S. News & World Report magazine
LORDSTOWN — The Lordstown-built Chevrolet Cruze has been named the best 2013 compact car for families by U.S. News & World Report magazine.
The news comes just one week after Consumer Reports, in its April issue, recommended three Cruze models to consumers based on crash-test results and improved reliability.
U.S. News & World Report, which in recent years has become known for its ranking and annual reports about American colleges, graduate schools and hospitals, among other things, covered 19 categories that highlighted vehicles with the best combination of quality, features and space for families.
Overall, the General Motors Co. garnered the most awards this year, with six of its models, across three brands named winners.
“We created the Best Cars for Families awards to make it easier for parents to find cars, SUVs and vans that will help make their lives easier,” said Jamie Page Deaton, managing editor of the magazine in a statement.
Other GM winners include the Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Verano, Buick Lacrosse and the Cadillac Escalade.
