The city’s board of control approved a $61,300 contract with DSV Builders of Niles to overhaul the probation department office on the second floor of city hall.
The board made the decision Friday, choosing DSV over five other companies for the work. DSV had the least-expensive proposal.
The city’s estimate on the work was $78,890.
The work includes a new ceiling, lighting and workspace, and makes improvements to plumbing, electrical and heating systems. The probation department will move to city hall’s basement March 16 with work starting shortly after that.
