YOUNGSTOWN
A Youngstown woman has sued an elevator maintenance company, alleging she suffered arm and other injuries because of the company’s negligence when she tripped and fell. She claims she tried to enter a mis-leveled elevator in Cushwa Hall at Youngstown State University on March 7, 2011.
Gerry Walker, of Burning Tree Lane, then a YSU student, sued Thyssen-Krupp Elevator Americas and five unidentified John Doe defendants Wednesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, seeking more than $25,000 in damages and demanding a jury trial.
Jane Scott, a ThyssenKrupp spokeswoman in Frisco, Texas, declined to comment on the lawsuit, which is assigned to Judge Maureen A. Sweeney.
The lawsuit says ThyssenKrupp inspected and maintained or repaired the university’s passenger elevators under a contract with YSU, but YSU is not named as a defendant in this lawsuit.

Guess she should have taken the stairs.
Couldn't take the stairs. She's obviously blind, lame and extremely obese. Just couldn't see that little step (if it was even there).
I am surprised that the students that were jumping up and down in the elevator about a year ago which caused it to drop a foot or so haven't sued for mental anguish. I can't believe that some Ytown attorney hasn't jumped on that. Get on the stick, ThyssenKrupp is a big corporation!!!
