ASSOCIATIONS

Youngstown Alumnae Panhellenic Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Poland Library, 311 S. Main St. The Irish Steppers will be featured. For information visit http://youngstownalumnaepanhellenic.weebly.com.

Yo-Mah-O Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals will meet Tuesday at A La Cart in Canfield. Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6. The program, “Irish History in the Mahoning Valley,” will be presented by Thomas G. Welsh, and a business meeting will follow. The buffet dinner will cost $18.75. ATHLETIC GROUPS

Girard Golden Eagles will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.

McDonald Midget Football Association will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday in the community room at the post office building.

McDonald Sideliners will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the high school.

AUXILIARIES

St. Elizabeth Health Center Auxiliary will meet at noon Monday in the private dining room of the hospital on Belmont Avenue. The speaker will be Rita Havas, SEHC volunteer manager, with an HMPM update and safety training for volunteers.

CLASSES

Chaney High School Classes of 1947, 1948 and 1949 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s on Mahoning Avenue.

Woodrow Wilson January and June Classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Classes of 1946 and 1948 are welcome.

CLUBS

Mahoning Valley Cribbage Club will meet at noon March 15 at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman. New players are welcome. For information call 330-793-6829.

Mahoning Valley Retreads will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny’s, 4927 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, with a meeting to follow. All bikers and their co-riders are encouraged to attend. Youngstown Chapter of International Torch Clubs will have a dinner-discussion meeting at 6 p.m. March 18 in Kilcawley Center, Bresnahan Rooms I & II, on the campus of Youngstown State University. Dr. S. Floyd Barger, professor emeritus of mathematics and statistics at YSU, will present “Marriage in the 21st Century: One Person’s View,” a discussion on heterosexual marriage and the societal vs. the role of the government, including non-sexual unions. The public is invited to attend. Social hour begins at 5:30, dinner is at 6, and the lecture follows at 7. Dinner for nonmembers is $19; attending the lecture only is free. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of the Boardman Library will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the community room. Refreshments will be served, and the program at 10 will be “The Statue of Liberty” presented by M.J. Albacete. A meeting will follow. Hostesses will be Barbara Huberty, Jean Puhalla and Luanna Jacobs. Guests are welcome. The public is encouraged to support the library reading program by donating books, magazines, DVDs and CDs. Items are received from 10 a.m. to noon the first and third Saturday of each month.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

D.A.R.E. Singles Group meets at 7:30 p.m. each Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. SOCIETIES

Mercer County Historical Society, 119 S. Pitt St., will present a program on Andersonville Prison by Jim Carnes on Tuesday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program starts at 7. The Civil War Discussion Group is part of the Historical Society’s ongoing efforts to provide programming related to local history. The roundtable meets the second Tuesday from September through May. Salem Historical Society will meet Tuesday in the Shaffer Library meeting room. After a brief business meeting at 7 p.m. Steven T. Ruwoldt, president and CEO of Salem Community Hospital, will present the program on the new addition. The meeting is open to the public with parking in the municipal parking on South Lundy Avenue. Youngstown Area Ostomy Support Group will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Humility of Mary Home Care Office, 979 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Girard. The group provides information and encouragement to individuals who have or will have ostomies and is free and open to ostomy patients, families and friends. Refreshments are provided, and parking is free. For information call 330-480-3440. The group meets once a month at alternating locations in Trumbull and Mahoning counties.

Youngstown PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. Use the entrance to the parish house at the back of the church. Meetings are confidential and open to anyone needing support or having questions concerning GLBT issues.

VETERANS
