Brown to tour NAMII

Staff report

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Avon, will make his first tour through the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute this morning.

He will call for the creation of a National Network for Manufacturing Innovation and tout the Mahoning Valley’s example as a key first step. Brown played a large part in bringing the first NAMII pilot to Youngstown, where it is now based at 236 W. Boardman St.

In his State of the Union Address in February, President Barack Obama asked Congress to create a network of 15 additional manufacturing hubs, citing the Youngstown location as good reason for the cause.
