Poland band volunteer indicted on abduction, public indecency

YOUNGSTOWN — A Mahoning County grand jury this week handed up indictments against a former Poland school band volunteer for abduction and public indecency.

Kevin Downs, 47, of Chablis Lane, Poland, was indicted Thursday. The abduction charge is a third-degree felony and the public-indecency charge is a misdemeanor. Downs is free on a $1,000 bond.

According to the indictment, the incident purportedly occurred shortly after 6 p.m. Dec. 21 at Downs’ Chablis Lane home. Poland Township police have said the victim is a minor but declined to release more information at this point.

Downs is founder of the local band Redline and KAD School of Percussion, where he offers private percussion lessons. He had been a volunteer at Poland schools teaching percussion until his arrest. He is not permitted on school grounds until the case is resolved.

Albert Johannes Jr., 49, Kirk Road, Canfield, driving under the influence of alcohol.

Frank Brown, 32, of Dixon Street, receiving stolen property, possessing criminal tools, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and illegal possession of a weapon.

Marcus Stokes, 30, of Oak Street, receiving stolen property, possessing criminal tools, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and illegal possession of a weapon.

Tyrell Davis, 24, Grenada Avenue, possession of cocaine, improperly hand-ling a firearm in a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property.

Michael Rivers, 29, Miller Street, possession of heroin and possession of cocaine.

Ayknephra Vickers, 24, Eastway Drive, robbery.

Anthony Williams, 22, Mahoning County jail, criminal trespass.

Shawn Carver, 27, West Indiana Avenue, Sebring, illegal manufacture of drugs and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

Tawaun Ceasar, also known as Ta’Waun Ceasar or Te’Quan Ceasar, 20, Kenmore Avenue, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of a detention facility.

Michael Gordon, also known as Paul Gordon, 26, West Boston Avenue, assault.

Daniel Hunt, 28, Poland Avenue, Struthers, grand theft.

Paul Driscoll, 48, East Judson Avenue, carrying concealed weapons.

Chad Little, 28, Mehlo Lane, possession of cocaine.

Daniel May, 19, East Chalmers Avenue, possession of cocaine.

Deshawn Smith, 26, George Place, Warren, carrying concealed weapons.

Emanuel Johnson, 19, East Florida Avenue, aggravated burglary.

Gregory Hart, 56, Notre Dame Avenue, Austintown or Terrace Avenue, Struthers, domestic violence and aggravated menacing.

Don Barnette, 33, Victoria Avenue, felonious assault and receiving stolen property.

Richard Humphrey, 43, Lansdowne Boulevard, possession of cocaine.

Hattie Morrow, 22, Hunter Avenue, possession of heroin.

Domonick Degenero, 26, Glenwood Avenue, illegal cultivation of marijuana, possessing criminal tools and possession of marijuana.

Johnnie McCall III, 23, Murray Lane, Campbell, aggravated burglary and robbery.

Kenneth Mansfield, 51, North Meridian Road, two counts of aggravated vehicular assault and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Rebecca D’Amico, 41, Bentwillow Lane, deception to obtain dangerous drug and illegal processing of drug documents.
