Willie Nelson continued his successful run with the Southside Boxing Club, knocking out Michael Medina in the first round Friday night at the MGM Grand in Mashantucket, Conn.
Nelson knocked down Medina midway through the first round. About 20 seconds after the fight resumed, Medina missed with a left-handed uppercut, leaving an opening for Nelson who took advantage, drilling Medina with a right hand.
The bout, which improved Nelson’s record to 20-1 and was his 12th KO, was televised on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights.
