Driver, passenger steal cellphone from out-of-town visitor

Published: Sat, June 15, 2013 @ 5:04 a.m.

BOARDMAN

A man in town on business claims his cellphone was stolen while he and a co-worker were walking in an empty lot on South Avenue.

He told police a car pulled up and the passenger, a young female, asked to use his phone.

When he gave it to her, he noticed the car was attempting to drive away with his phone.

The man then leaned through the passenger side window to try and grab it when the driver of the vehicle began to drive away while the man was hanging in the window.

The driver and passenger held onto the man for some time before he managed to get away and rolled across the roadway, according to a report.

The suspects got away with his phone, and police are still looking for them.
