Boardman GF Insulations takes on South Range Skate Zone

Boardman GF Insulations team defeated South Range Skate Zone 4-2 on June 10. Boardman GF Insulations fended off South Range Skate Zone’s late push. South Range Skate Zone was unable to come back from the hole it dug itself into against Boardman GF Insulations and they lost 4-2 after falling behind by four runs in the fourth inning. Bobby Toth got the win for Boardman - GF Insulations, allowing one run over four innings. He struck out five, walked four and surrendered two hits.

Mayo & Associates defeats DeSalvo Construction

Boardman Mayo & Associates defeated Howland DeSalvo Construction 14-9 on June 10. Mario D’Amato led the way for Boardman Mayo & Associates. D’Amato had three hits and picked up the win in relief, throwing four solid innings. Nathan Chizmar and Brandon Edgell each had two hits and three RBI’s apiece. Jacob Kimble played a nice defensive game at shortstop.

Gorby takes third

Julia Gorby placed third in the womens race overall at the IHM Festival 5K. Gorby placed in a time of 20:45. For complete results go to

Youth basketball camp

The Boardman boys basketball youth camp will be June 24-26 at Boardman High School. Grades 1 and 2 will cost $40 and will be from 12:30-2 p.m., while grades 3-8 will cost $60 and be from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Checks can be made payable to Sixth Man Club and mailed to P.O. Benefit golf outing set

The Brett Wilcox benefit golf outing will be July 21 at Lakeside Golf Course. Shot gun start will begin at 9 a.m. The cost is $65 per golfer or $250 for a foursome. Cost includes coffee and doughnuts at registration, lunch, dinner and drinks. Sponsorships are available for $100 for a hole sponsor or $350 for a gold sponsor.

First place will receive $400 and second place $200. In addition, there will be a Chinese auction, 50/50 raffle and a 50-inch TV raffle.
