Police believe two or three armed robberies early Wednesday may have been committed by the same black male, but they will need additional information before they are ready to make an arrest.
One robbery occurred at 12:45 a.m. in the 1200 block of Palmyra Road Southwest.
Two 18-year-old females were walking on the sidewalk when they told police they noticed a small, skinny black male walking toward them, so they got off the sidewalk into the parking lot of a building.
The male, who was wearing a red bandanna, passed them, then turned around, pulled out a gun and took the purse of one of the females.
At 3 a.m., a 19-year-old male, a 19-year-old female and another male were sitting on the porch at a Riverview Street Northwest house when a skinny black male came riding near the house on a bicycle.
A short time later, the male appeared on foot, pointing a handgun at them and wearing a red bandanna over his face. The robber got one of the men’s wallets and some cigarettes and fled on the bicycle.
The Riverview victims said the suspect also was wearing a backpack.
