UPDATE | Chief: Lightning likely caused Lowellville High School fire

LOWELLVILLE — Fire Chief Al Boggia said this morning a lightning strike caused a fire at the school complex at 52 Rocket Place.

Boggia said first crews were on the scene just after 5 a.m. and the fire was contained to the high school portion of the complex.

The fire was contained to the roof but there was heavy smoke and water damage to both the first and second floors, Boggia said.

No one was injured.
