Orthopedic and safety fair
Trumbull Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of ValleyCare Health System of Ohio, is offering a free orthopedic and safety fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the hospital’s main parking area at 1350 E. Market St. Children and adults are encouraged to attend.
Those attending can meet with TMH physicians and staff, explore health-care displays, participate in health screenings, obtain health information, and enjoy food, refreshments and other activities.
Safety exhibits include a smoke safety trailer for children and a texting-while-driving simulator.
Emergency and safety vehicles on display include the Akron Children’s Hospital’s Air Bear and STAT Medevac helicopters, and local fire trucks and ambulances.
Friendly Squares from Niles, Sneakers ‘N Spurs dance line from Howland-Cortland SCOPE, and the Steven Foster Barbershop Chorus will entertain.
Free health care seminar for kids

Dr. Ted Suzelis offers a free seminar, “Blood Type Diet Meal Prep,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, 755 Boardman-Canfield Road, Suite D-3.

Nursing-home finances seminar
The Alzheimer Network offers a seminar on legal and financial issues, including Medicaid Resource and Income Rules for Nursing Home and PASSPORT, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 19 at the Girard Free Library, 105 E. Prospect St.
Presenter is Atty. Elliot P. Legow, a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Handouts will be provided. There is no charge, but reservations are required. Call 330-788-9755.
Beatitude House hosting two events
Beatitude House is having two free events, in Youngstown and Warren to introduce Sister Janet Gardner, the organization’s new executive director.
The Youngstown event is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 19 at the administrative offices, 238 Tod Lane, including a brief program at 10 a.m. The second event is 9:30 to 11 a.m. June 27 at A House of Blessing Warren, 1370 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, which also includes a short program at 10 a.m.
Niles seminar has tips for caregivers
The Eastern Ohio Chiropractic Society has a “Caring for Caregivers Seminar” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St. A free lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. The seminar and luncheon are free. Preregistration is requested. Call 330-544-3676.
EOCS doctors will demonstrate simple lifting and transportation techniques, answer questions about preventing repetitive motion injuries, and recommend noninvasive measures for treating acute, chronic or episodic muscle pain that can result from daily care giving.
