Man with 23 bags of pot arrested in the city

Published: Mon, June 10, 2013 @ 12:02 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police say they found 23 bags of marijuana packaged for sale on a man late Saturday evening after a short foot chase on the South Side.

Derrick C. Williams, 22, is expected to face charges of trafficking in drugs marijuana and walking in roadways when he is arraigned in Municipal Court this afternoon after he was arrested behind a 328 E. Ravenwood Ave. garage about 11:25 p.m. Saturday.

Reports said officers spotted two men walking in the middle of the 200 block of Hilton Avenue and when they tried to talk to them, the men ran away in opposite directions.

The other man got away but officers managed to find Williams hiding between the fence and garage. He was taken to the Mahoning County jail.

Patrols are increasing. Perhaps these gentlemen don't read the paper so they weren't aware of all the extra police on the street.

I bet he was making house calls for all of his midicinal patients. We caught him. How about the people that killed the upstanding gentlemen on the East side? Have we found them yet?
