AG poised to shut down sweepstakes parlors

Attorney General Mike DeWine says his office will be ready to help local prosecutors shut down sweepstakes parlors, barring a ballot initiative to stop a new state law from taking effect in September.

“They’re not going to all go away overnight,” he said. “But we’ll get rid of them pretty quickly.”

Earlier this month, Gov. John Kasich signed into law House Bill 7, which backers believe will effectively shutter most of the Internet cafes operating in the state.

Good Lord, why doesn't Jimminy Crickett go after something that is really criminal, drugs, welfare fraud, no he's had a real thing for the sweepstakes parlor. Please vote him out next term.

Shut all this gambling down, without social security and other governments benefits it wouldn't exist. People complain about people on welfare having cellphones and tatoos and jewelry. But no one says a word about people blowing their social security and disability checks on gambling. It's the same money!
