Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, 4626 S. Pricetown Road, will celebrate its 184th anniversary on June 23. Liturgy will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by a hymn sing and games. Concert at church


The adult choir of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2831 Hillman St., will sponsor a pre-anniversary concert featuring Youngstown’s Sensational Clifftones at 4 p.m. Sunday. The event is free. The Rev. Clifford Kimbrough is pastor.

Music ministry


Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 646 Lakewood Ave., will sponsor an in-service Christian education workshop on the theme of music ministry from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 22. Pastor Kenny Eldridge, founder of Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center and a musician, producer and recording artist, will lead the session.The cost is $10; registration deadline is June 16. New pastor


James Berkebile was installed as the new pastor of Struthers Parkside Church, formerly Struthers Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Wess Berkebile, his father, officiated at the service followed by a luncheon. Pastor Berkebile was licensed to ministry in 2004 by the Church of the Brethren. The church has worship services at 10:30 a.m. Sundays with children’s church and Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m. The pastor’s wife, Shannon, is an elementary teacher in Hubbard.

Gospel concert set


We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod St., will host a Gospel concert at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Other church musicians will perform in the free program that is open to all.

Healing service

hermitage, pa.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., will conduct a service of prayer and anointing for healing at 10 a.m. Sunday with Pastor David J. Williamson. Light refreshments follow.

St. Anthony feast


A celebration in honor of the Feast of St. Anthony of Padua will be marked next week at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave. Masses will be said in memory of the late Deacon Nicholas Boccieri, who died June 11, 2011, at 9 a.m. Tuesday and the late Monsignor John DeMarinis, who died June 12, 2011, at 9 a.m. Wednesday. A Feast Day Mass will be at 6 p.m. Thursday with an outdoor procession. Lowellville Mount Carmel Band will play at the festivities. There will be St. Anthony’s Brier Hill pizza, pizza frita (fried dough), sausage, cavatelli and meatballs and a bake sale of Italian pastries.

Cycle ministry


The Rev. Duane Jesse, senior pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, is seeking input on forming a motorcycle ministry. Motorcyclists would gather for occasional rides.

Call to peace


NOW Youngstown will host a call to prayer for peace in Youngstown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Metro Assembly of God, 2530 South Ave. The event will launch “Increase the Peace” rallies.
