MCCTC students earn gold medals


Students in the Culinary Arts program and the Early Childhood Education program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center took high honors at the State FCCLA Competition.

Krystal Means of Jackson Milton was awarded a gold medal and placed first overall in the Toys that Teach event. Fellow students Kayli Dean of Western Reserve won a gold medal in the Language and Literacy event and Marissa Edwards of Sebring won a silver medal in the same event.

In addition, the senior culinary arts team received a gold medal rating and placed fourth overall. Members of the team are Catlyn Walker of Struthers and Sam Kosec and Erika Rigby of Canfield.
