Sciortino pays $50 fine and $80 in court costs in marked lanes case

Mahoning County Auditor Michael V. Sciortino has paid a $50 fine and $80 in court costs in connection with a ticket he received May 26 for failing to drive within marked lanes on U.S. Route 224 east of Raccoon Road, Canfield Court records show.

Sheriff Jerry Greene said Sgt. James Touville, who made the traffic stop, and an unnamed member of the sheriff’s senior command staff, are being investigated by an outside agency — the Summit County Sheriff’s Office — concerning their conduct in connection with the traffic stop.

Although he said he didn’t know if Sciortino was given a field sobriety test, Greene said Touville should have administered that test if he had probable cause to believe Sciortino had been drinking.

Why wasn't a breath test taken from Sciortino? If it was you are me swerving from lane to lane we would have to take a breath test.

Flitchard agree this is shady (unbelievable) but I don't think there was anyway to reference to the Cafaro's anywhere. Its a stretch or a tough Berger to chew on.
But again I agree shady, shady, shady. Bet you'd never see Jimbo T. chatting with the Cafaros at least not on tape. Waay too smart for that.
