On Sunday, the Solemnity of Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, Pope Francis will preside at a Holy Hour of Eucharistic Adoration at 5 p.m. (Rome time) at St. Peter Basilica.
As part of the “Year of Faith,” Pope Francis has asked that this hour of Eucharistic Adoration extend throughout the world in prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
St. Columba Cathedral will conduct a Holy Hour from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday with Bishop George V. Murry, S.J., Bishop of Youngstown presiding.
St. John’s Day
St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 159 Todd Ave., will celebrate St. John’s Day at the 10 a.m. June 23 worship with the Rev. David J. Williamson, pastor of the church and grand chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.
He will be assisted by Gordon E. Hensel, district deputy grand master of Pennsylvania’s 53rd Masonic District, and members of Mount Calvary Commandery of the Knights Templar.
This will be the district’s sixth annual celebration of the day, the anniversary of the founding of the first grand lodge of Freemasons in 1717.
Thomas K. Sturgeon, past grand master of Pennsylvania Masons, will be the guest speaker at lunch.
