Bottom Dollar Food opens two local stores

Two new Bottom Dollar Food locations will open Thursday, expanding to five stores within the local market.

They both open at 8 a.m. with one at 1756 North Road in Warren and the other at 1700 Wilmington Road in New Castle, Pa.

The first 200 customers at the new locations Thursday will receive a free Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with groceries, and additional customers will receive free reusable bags throughout the day.

In Warren, former Pittsburgh Steelers football player Louis Lipps will greet customers and sign autographs from 8 to 9 a.m., and the company will donate $1,500 to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.

At the New Castle store, former Steelers football player Robin Cole will greet customers and sign autographs from 8 to 9 a.m. In addition, Bottom Dollar Food will make a $1,500 donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank to support the Produce to People initiative.

Each store will employ approximately 50 people.
