McDonald's employee foils attempted robbery

Published: Tue, July 30, 2013 @ 10:35 a.m.

CAMPBELL — At 11 p.m. Monday, a 21-year-old Youngstown man attempted to rob the McDonald's on McCartney Road, but a restaurant employee grabbed the suspect's gun and placed him in a choke hold before he could take any money from the safe.

Although the suspect, Alvin Ward, broke free of the employee's grasp and fled on foot, police caught up with him shortly afterward on Wilson Avenue, about a mile from the McDonald's.

Ward admitted to the crime to police, and was charged with aggravated robbery.

INCOMPLETE REPORTING!

What kind of gun did Alvin Ward have? The kind of ammo in the gun, hollow point, round nose and the manufacturer? Will the McDonalds employee be charged with assault for putting him in a choke hold? This city life amazes me!

Good thing he doesn't work at Home Depot. The employee would be out on his arse.
