Lumen Christi Catholic Schools hosted a “Friends of Lumen Christi Kick-Off Picnic” July 11 at the St. Maron Parish Pavilion.
The picnic was a celebration of the official start of Lumen Christi Catholic Schools. Dr. Lois Cavucci, president of Lumen Christi, said that more than 200 people attended the event and had food and drinks, while partaking in music and games.
The picnic was a great opportunity for families, school faculty, pastors and members of the Board of Directors to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year of planning and to look forward to the new school year. As a united system of schools, Lumen Christi is laying the foundation for the future of Catholic education in the Mahoning Valley.
Lumen Christi Catholic Schools is comprised of six elementary schools including St. Patrick, St. Nicholas, St. Joseph Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Christine, St. Charles, Holy Family and the distinctive Early Childhood Learning Center at St. Luke, Holy Family and St. Christine.
After years of planning and collaboration, the new system is in place for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.
