Touville agrees to three-day suspension; hearing averted

A settlement has been reached between Sgt. James Touville and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department. Touville agrees to a three-day unpaid suspension. That eliminated the need for a predisciplinary hearing that had been scheduled for today. The administrative charges against Touville stemmed from a traffic stop of county auditor Michael V. Sciortino.

Wonder what happens if the attorney general charges him for something.

Is this deal still in place then?

Assion, obstructs justice by helping Sciortino get away with a crime he gets a phony promotion (that he didn't earn in the first place) taken away. An underling knuckles under to a boss he gets suspended. Who are these people? Bankers!

....and "Magic Mike" walks away scott free to drive drunk another day....
Did you hear Joe Bell (Cafaro puppet) on the radio today, trying to minimize Sciotino's culpability?? Called damage control.

I totally agree with vinglass. Touville got thrown under the bus. He did his job. His boss didn't. Can't figure why he's still employed. When this all blows over, he'll get promoted again.

They're all idiots- but they're "untouchables" because they have a powerful Union behind them. My view is that Government Workers shouldn't be allowed to Unionize (I know it was tried but the Unions got together and overturned it- but, I think, we need to try again).

They operate as Monopolies- what alternative to Unionized Police or Unionized Teachers are there? None. In the case of teachers, you have the Voucher System- which the National Education Union and it's vassal the- The Democratic (sic) Party fight tooth and nail, but, basically, Government Employees operate as Monopolies- which is why they shouldn't have the right to form Unions.

Unlike workers in the Private Sector- Steel, Auto Workers, etc. the Consumers of public services have no choice to shop elsewhere- they're stuck and the union bosses know it.

I don't think Public Employees should be able to Unionize- that's my view.

Furthermore, I know newsprint is precious and the Vindy is always looking for ways to economize and, besides, Conservation is Wonderful and let's save trees- so, I suggest, from now on, whenever mentioning ex-Commander Assion- the Copy Editor just abbreviate his last name to the first three letters: ASS. Highly appropriate!
