Authorities find guns, drugs at Jefferson Street home


YOUNGSTOWN — Police serving a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Jefferson Street just after 5 p.m. Tuesday found ammunition for two different types of weapons.

Officers from the police department’s vice squad, who were assisted by members of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force, found three boxes of 7.62 mm rounds, which are commonly used in Russian- or Chinese-style assault weapons as well as a box of ammunition for a .357 Magnum revolver.

Police also found small amounts of marijuana and cocaine in the home as well as more than $800 and a surveillance camera.

Arrested for the charge of possession of drugs was Bruce Wright, 51, of Youngstown.
