The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber received an economic-development award Thursday during the Team NEO/Inside Business Annual Economic Development Awards dinner in Cleveland.
The award was for business attraction and related to the chamber’s helping convince Exterran to build a 65,000-square-foot, $13 million production- equipment fabrication facility with more than 100 new employees in Youngstown. The facility opened earlier this year.
Also recognized for their efforts were representatives from the city for providing the site to the company along with an abatement for new construction. The Mahoning and Columbiana Training Association provided workforce assistance and training funds to Exterran.
