Sharon's Denny Dolci misses cut in U.S. Senior Open

Published: Fri, July 12, 2013 @ 10:21 p.m.

— Denny Dolci started the second round of the U.S. Senior Open with three straight bogeys and couldn't recover Friday.

The Sharon, Pa., native shot a 78 in the second round and finished at 12-over par 152, missing the cut.

Dolci said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience this week at Omaha Country Club.

“It was a great experience and I appreciate all the coverage and all the people who contacted,” he said. “You hear things [about playing in a major] and until you’re there and a part of it, you don’t know what it’s like. It was a first-class event.

“It was great seeing some people I’ve known over the years and I got to rekindle some relationships. It’s been a great week.”

Read more about Dolci and the U.S. Senior Open later at Vindy.com or in Friday's Vindicator sports section.
