Police respond to burglary, discover one dead

Niles police responded to a burglary Friday and discovered one person dead.

Niles police discovered one man dead when they arrived to a burglary in progress at 1539 Niles Corland Road early Friday morning.

Terry D. Allen, of Mineral Ridge, age unknown at this time, was found dead when police arrived to the residence. The person living there told police that unknown people tried breaking into his home through two doors, according to a release.

That’s when police discovered Allen, who was dead from an apparent gunshot wound at the residence. Police are still in the early stages of the investigation.
