Browns give jersey, fan requested pallbearers
The Browns are giving a jersey to the family of a fan who asked for six players to serve as pallbearers at his funeral. Scott E. Entsminger, 55, of Mansfield, died Thursday at his home. In his obituary in the Columbus Dispatch, Entsminger, a lifelong Browns fan, requested “six Cleveland Browns pallbearers so the Browns can let him down one last time.”
Browns spokesman Zak Gilbert said Monday that the team contacted Entsminger’s widow, Pat, and found out that his favorite player was Hall of Famer Lou Groza. The team will present a Groza No. 76 jersey with Entsminger’s name on the back to the family Tuesday
O’Donold’s celebrates Richardson’s birthday
O’Donold’s Irish Pub and Too-Deep-Entertainment will present a birthday celebration for Cleveland Browns running back, Trent Richardson on Friday at O’Donold’s Irish Pub and Grill in the Austintown Plaza.
Richardson, who turns 23 on Wednesday, became the first Cleveland rookie to rush for 100 yards and score rushing and receiving touchdowns in the same game. He also tied the Browns’ franchise rookie record of nine touchdowns.
Entertainment on Friday will be provided by DJ Bandcamp. Doors open at 10 p.m. and VIP bottle service is available by calling 330-397-7567.
Canfield’s Luklan to play at Westminster
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.
Westminster College volleyball has received a commitment from Canfield’s Nicole Luklan to continue her education at Westminster, while competing as a member of the Titan volleyball team. Luklan, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, will join the Titans in August and plans to study early childhood and special education.
A two-year letter winner at Canfield, Luklan earned all-district and all-league honors. A team captain for the Cardinals, she was a member of two district championship teams. In the classroom, Luklan was president of the student council and was part of the student senate.
Northside presents training for coaches
Northside Medical Sports Medicine will conduct a Pupil Activity Validation (PAV) training session open to all coaches July 17 at Austintown Fitch High. The session is from 6 to 8 p.m.

Youngstown CC site of Collegiate Series event
The Northern Ohio PGA Collegiate Series kicks off its third season with a tournament July 24 at Youngstown Country Club. The series gives college-aged golfers (18-22) an opportunity to play some of the tougher courses in northeast Ohio, preparing them for their collegiate careers.
The series continues Aug. 5 at Little Mountain Country Club in Concord, then goes to Barrington Golf Club in Aurora on Aug. 12

Warren golfer tied for second in junior event
Billy Phillips of Warren is tied for second after the first day of the two-round North Coast Junior Tour event at Sand Ridge in Chardon.
Phillips, playing in the boys 16-19 age division, shot a 79 and trails the tournament leader by three strokes. Phillips’ caddie is former Warren JFK teammate Stephen Macali.
Jets coach Ryan runs with bulls — twice
New York Jets coach Rex Ryan joined thousands of thrill-seekers on Sunday and Monday in the annual running of the bulls at the San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain. The team confirmed Monday that Ryan was uninjured while participating both days in the run, which is the highlight of a nine-day street festival and is televised nationally.
