HAMILTON, Ohio

Officials say two empty cars of a CSX train derailed in Hamilton and have blocked a railroad crossing in the southern part of the city.

Hamilton Fire Department Deputy Chief Troy Pugh said in a statement that two cars derailed at approximately 8:15 p.m. Friday. No injuries have been reported.

Pugh says the Hamilton Hazardous Materials Unit was called to the scene, but it was discovered that two flat cars had derailed.

Officials say the train is blocking the rail crossing between Front Street and Hanover.

Pugh says that CSX railroad is investigating the derailment.
