Students compete in national tournament

Four students from Boardman High School attended the National Forensic League’s National Speech and Debate Tournament June 16-21 in Birmingham, Ala.

Students qualify to this event by way of the Northern Ohio Regional Tournament, which was offered at Boardman High School in February. Students attending the meet were Travis Filicky (public forum debate),

Joe Lamping (public forum debate), Mickey Marshall (student congress senate) and My’Kale White (dramatic interpretation).

Approximately 275 students from across the country qualify in each of the 12 competitive events offered by the Nation Forensic League. All of the qualifiers from Boardman High Schools finished in the top 75 of their events.

The Boardman High School team is under the direction of Eric Simione.
