Boardman Glenwood Middle School honored the achievements of its students May 23.

Principal Anthony Alvino welcomed a crowd of students, faculty and family members.

“We’re here as a celebration of pride for individuals, groups and as a school,” said Alvino.

Eighth-grade students were recognized for their accomplishments in individual subjects as well as sports and in music.

Anna Warhol received recognition for serving as the student council president for the 2012-2013 school year.

Jenn Dravecky, student council advisor, commended Warhol for her hard work.

“Her leadership and dedication as president led student council to an organized and a successful year,” said Dravecky. “This young lady, to say the least, is a positive role model for all students. She has an enormous amount of school spirit and takes pride in everything she does at Boardman Glenwood Middle School.”

Pranav Padmanabhan was recognized as the Geography Bee champion and Judy Garzanich was recognized as the Spelling Bee champion.

Logan Mitchell received two awards for her achievements in track. Mitchell was honored for setting the girls school high jump and long jump records.

Students were awarded for maintaining a 4.0 GPA all four years of middle school. Those students were Dante Colaluca, MacKenzie Kondas, Allison Janak, Lauren Pavlansky, Sophia Schuler, Mark Smaldino, Katelyn Snyder and Anna Warhol.
