Published: Tue, July 2, 2013 @ 9:56 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The man indicted last month for a 1974 triple homicide in Canfield Township was arraigned today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

James Ferrara, who is serving a prison term for a 1983 double homicide in Worthington, pleaded not guilty on charges he murdered Benjamin Marsh, 33; his wife Marilyn, 32; and their daughter Heather, 4.

Their son Christopher, 1, was unharmed.

Sporting thick, black glasses, Ferrara chatted with an inmate in the jury box occasionally and told Magistrate Eugene Fehr he has been in prison for 30 years.

He has a July 9 pretrial date and a Aug. 5 trial date before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum.
