Not following the Good Book

Not following the Good Book

I always wonder why officials swear on the Bible when they have no Intention of obeying it. The scripture says not to swear by anything in heaven or earth but rather let your yes be yes and your no be no and that everything beyond this is from the evil one.

The scripture says that homosexuality is sin in both the Old and New Testaments, but our leaders ignore this while swearing on the Bible. They send soldiers to kill when the Bible says not to kill and that those who live by the sword will die by the sword. Jesus said to love your enemies and how can you love them by killing them?

Of course, all of this only applies to true Christians, but why would politicians claim to be true Christians when they don’t obey what the scriptures say? And why would they swear on the Bible when they don’t even know what it say and probably have never read it?

These people save the whales and then kill millions of human babies by legalizing abortion, which is just a fancy way of saying genocide. These politicians rub shoulders with Hollywood which makes pictures filled with violence, lust, hatred, racism and greed. Jesus called them hypocrites, a word used for play actors at the time. They all pretend to be something they are not and delight in deceiving others and being deceived.

Our country has turned away from God and doesn’t obey the scriptures, which say to owe no man anything. Any household that ran itself the way the government does would be bankrupt and lose everything. It looks like it is too late even now since our government owes 16 trillion dollars in national debt.

Okay, the thing is...there really are people who are doing good works in the name of God regardless of who they are. You really can't say America's turned it's back on Him. It's the opposite. Fr. Maturi out of Youngstown is doing his part to help combat volence, and to actually help the disadvantaged. He's also doing so because it's right.

I don't think the letter writer understands that the people in films are characters portrayed by actors so I'm not going to put much faith in anything else he says.
